BARCELONA: HISTORY OF A CHANGE (July 13 - July 20 1997)

Barcelona IACES LC is preparing a five day Summer course, about the transformation of Barcelona in the last years, titled 'Barcelona: History of a change'

This Summer course will follow the guidelines of the courses that IACES organizes in different European Civil Engineering Faculties. It will be an activity organized by the students and addressed to West and East European students, as well to the ETSECCPB students.

From the beginning of the idea, the ETSECCPB and the CI, have been supporting the project. With their help the Barcelona IACES LC, has prepared a proposal of plan including four subjects to be dealed in four days: The city, the infrastructures, the Olympic works and the future perspectives.

It is doubtless an opportunity to show European students the reality of Civil Engineering in our country, and the great works done here because of the Olympic Games. We want to organize a very wide and pleasant course. The speakers will be very close connected with the subjects dealed. So, we think the activity will be very outstanding and attractive, not only for students but also general.

About fifty European students will follow the Summer course as well as some local students. It will be developed at the ETSCCPB and at the CI. We will organize two evening sightseeing's around the city and a full day to visit some works in the outskirts of Barcelona. In this way we want to mix theory and practice.

The non academical activities haven't been programmed yet, but they will be carried out to complete the idea of the country and the city.
